A honey bomb is a mixture of immune-boosting/flu-fighting ingredients fermented in honey to become a powerful weapon to fight colds and infections, and prevent illness. I have recently added this recipe to my cottage apothecary to help us stay healthy in the winter months when everyone seems to be getting sick. Using the bomb is as simple as adding a few spoonfuls to a mug of tea, a hot toddy, or taking it straight up. This is a great trick to have up your sleeve when you’re coming down with a cold, traveling, taking care of others, or building up your immune system this winter.

Honey bomb ingredients and their benefits
To make a honey bomb, you can use a variety of immune-boosting, fresh, whole foods like onion, garlic, jalapeno, citrus, black pepper, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and rosemary.
This honey bomb recipe below includes the following:
Citrus
Citrus has long been known for adding many vitamins, and antioxidants, and for boosting immunity.
Fresh Ginger
While ginger is most widely used for its antiemetic and digestive benefits, it is also antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant to the body.
Fresh Turmeric
Turmeric has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese Medicine for its anti-inflammatory results. Recent studies have shown Turmeric decreases cancer growth, free radicals, and inflammation in the body.
Cinnamon
Throughout history, cinnamon has been used for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is a very powerful spice that can protect the body from free radicals, and oxidative damage, and can even lower the risk of heart disease.
Organic Raw Honey
Organic Raw Honey is one of the most well-recognized medicinal foods for its antimicrobial properties. Even the CDC (an organization that is not usually very naturally minded) recognizes honey as a cough suppressant.
How to enjoy this herbal remedy
You can take a tablespoon or two of the honey bomb straight every day for the highest possible potency. A few spoonfuls can also be added to hot water, hot tea, or a hot toddy.

Wow, this is a great post! I had no idea that cinnamon was so medicinal. Also didn’t know about the fermentation of these ingredients for medicinal purposes. I’m going to make a batch of this right away. Do you kniw how to store it and the approximate shelf life?
