Raspberry leaf is one of the best herbs to naturally support and balance your hormones. If you are battling PMS symptoms, trying to get your cycle to regulate, or just love trying new delicious teas, this tea tea is about to be your new go-to!
Recently I have noticed how many women are getting off hormonal birth control and taking charge of their hormones. This process can result in a few (or more) abnormal cycles and many PMS symptoms. Even if you have never taken hormonal birth control, with all of the endocrine disrupters in our homes and environment, it really does take work to balance and regulate your hormones. I like to use raspberry leaf tea as another weapon in my arsenal to keep my cycle and period regular, as well as to keep my PMS symptoms in check.
Benefits of raspberry leaf tea
Raspberry Leaf is packed with vitamins and antioxidants which can help reduce the risk of cancer. It also has calcium and magnesium which can help reduce cramps, nausea, and promote digestion. This tea has been used in ancestral folk and ayurvedic medicines for centuries helping many women to naturally manage PMS and menopause symptoms. The best way to get the most benefits of raspberry leaf is to drink it regularly. I like to brew a big batch at the beginning of the week, add honey, and keep it in the fridge for fresh ice tea concoctions throughout the week.
Where to purchase raspberry leaf tea
I like to buy my tea in bulk from Mountain Rose Herbs. Buying loose-leaf tea this way will be the best value for your money, not to mention all of their teas are organic and sustainably grown.
A holistic approach to balancing your hormones
Remember that no tea or supplement alone will fix your hormones! Balancing your cycle is a holistic journey. If you drink lots of raspberry leaf tea but only sleep 6 hours a night and eat lots of processed foods, you probably will not see much improvement. In the future, I’ll write a blog about natural ways I have balanced my hormones, but for now, here are a few things to pair with your raspberry leaf tea for balancing and supporting your period.
- Reduce stress as much as you can
- Reduce processed food
- Sleep 8 hours a night between 11 and 7 (11 pm-3 am is when your body restores and heals)
- Spend more time outside in the sun
- Move your body daily
- Remove as many endocrine disruptors as you can from your lifestyle
