Beeswax and Calendula Tallow Lotion Bars
Yield: 3 lotion bars
Materials
- 80 g tallow
- 30 g beeswax
- 30 g shea butter
- 30 g mango butter
- 1 handful Calendula flowers or 10 drops of your favorite essential oil
Instructions
- Prepare a double boiler (use cookware you don't mind getting waxy) or a heat safe glass bowl and a small sauce pan with a cup or two of water in it.
- Weigh all ingredients in the heat safe bowl
- Melt all the ingredients over medium low heat
- Turn the heat to low and add the flowers and allow to steep for about 10 minutes
- Prepare the molds on a flat surface
- Pour the mixture through fine mesh sieve into the molds.
- Allow the lotion bars to cool and solidify for about 1 hour
- Store in a cool dark place
